History Documentaries
Soon after homo sapiens had wiped out the Neanderthals in southwestern Europe, they started to war among themselves. The rock art of the Spanish Levant, some of which is dated to 40,000 years ago, contains the earliest depiction of violent combat in human history. Fewer than a dozen of the tens of thousands of known images from both regions portray battles involving small squads of archers. The Spanish Levantine art is where one can see the most moving example of planned human-on-human violence.
