Credit to : Old Archives Despite being overshadowed by her brother John, a prominent figure in the British documentary movement and her sister Ruby, whose life was tragically cut short, Marion Grierson had an impressive career in documentary filmmaking. Her distinctive style incorporated a range of sophisticated techniques, coupled with a light and assured touch. Although her films were more popular abroad than in the UK, they offer a valuable record of British life. Most were created in the 1930s, during the peak of the British documentary movement. Despite their significance, these films remain largely unknown today.
