Keith Brackler reports on some extraordinary Chinese Fighting Fish, which have made the arduous journey from the lakes and rivers of China’s most remote regions, to the window of Ernie Chapman’s waterfront cafe in Devon. The rarity of these fantastic specimens is matched only by their astonishing physiology. During breeding season – possibly in order to prevent the notoriously aggressive creatures from attacking one another – Chinese fighting fish are able to become completely transparent, making them effectively invisible.
